Janessa Butts, LCSW

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready for change?

I'm here to support you. I take a person-centered, compassionate approach to therapy -meaning we'll work together to build a trusting relationship where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward in a way that fits you.

My name is Janessa Butts, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a background in military service. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, with specialized training in mental health, substance use, and trauma-informed care. My clinical background includes working in inpatient settings, supporting clients with complex mental health concerns, co-occurring disorders, chronic health conditions, ADHD, and more. These experiences have deepened my commitment to individualized care rooted in compassion and respect.

I work with teens (13+) and adults, helping individuals navigate a wide range of challenges, including schizophrenia, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My background in both the military and social work has shown me the power of resilience, connection, and teamwork – values I bring into my sessions. I tailor my approach to your unique goals and strengths, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Above all, my mission is to support you – to help you build and develop resilience, foster self-awareness, and provide you with tools and strategies designed to help you live a more empowered life. If you're ready to take the next step, I warmly invite you to reach out.
